SOPHIA VERA LOUISE BURTON-MAVIS*
SIXTH year, SIXTEEN years old
representing HOUSE, bearing a WAND wand
Sophia Burton-Mavis was born on the 17th April to George and Louise Burton-Mavis. Shortly after her birth, her parents separated but remained married and on good terms, leading Sophia to have good relationships with them both. She remained living with her mother while her father had his midlife crisis. George Burton-Mavis decided to have eight children after Sophia - Georgie, Maggie, Hannah, Zelda, Eugenia, Edith, Ophelia and Vivien. Having such a big family gave Sophia three skills - how to stop a fight; how to avoid a fight and how to ignore a fight.
Sophia was always the black sheep of her family. With eight sisters knocking around and their girly-girl attitudes, 'cool' personalities and outgoing natures, Sophia never fit in. Sophia is very quiet, shy, socially awkward and definitely a wallflower - very much different to her sisters. Still despite this, she became very close to several of them. Also unlike her sisters, Sophia is a pureblood. However, due to her sisters being halfblood and her time spent around muggles and muggleborns, she rarely considers herself so. She usually just doesn't bring the whole subject into conversation, mainly because she just doesn't care. Though, she does find some pride in her family's place in wizarding history.
In addition to her ineptitude, Sophia happens to be smart, hardworking and organised - the only traits she inherited from her father. She is also kind and has a good heart and has a touch of loyalty to her (definitely not three traits she inherited from her father). She does happen to share some of these traits with the sisters she enjoys the company of. On the whole, Sophia is a sophisticated young lady and is well spoken despite her Yorkshire accent and is quite well read. Her love of reading occasionally leads her to one of her genuinely bad traits - snobbery.
