Olivia sat down at the Ravenclaw table staring at the blank sketchpad before her, wishing she could get some from of inspiration as to what to draw next. The Welcoming Ceremony was going full swing with the sorting hat placing students with their rightful housemates for the next couple of years. If she had a choice she would much rather be in her common room with her pet ferret kilala, reading book or scouring the grounds for another new item to add to her collection. Looking around she was trying to see if any of her friends from last year were here, but it looked like it was just her so far.
A slight rumble from her stomach told her that she was hungry so reached pass a plate of roast beef and gravy for a plate of grilled chicken and mixed vegetables. A stack of fresh bake rolls appeared next to her plate of food so she grabbed two rolls and began to dig into her plate. "I will sneak kilala some of this food as a treat for being a good girl while I'm away." she thought.

It was a pleasure to begin the year of her NEWT-level classes at yet another Hogwarts Welcoming Ceremony. As she stepped into the Great Hall, it didn't cease to amaze the witch, raised around magic, the beauty of the decorations and detail that lined the windows and ceiling of this precious part of the castle. As she walked forward to the front of the Great Hall, hoping to be close to the Sorting Ceremony, Annelise twirled a piece of her curly blonde hair in her fingertip, every few moments letting her fingertip drop and her curly lock bounce, letting both of her hands slowly slide their fingers down the strand.
The chandeliers that aligned themselves with the long tables of each house glittered and sparkled, reflecting the candlelight that lit them. The tables were decorated with what looked to be expensive China, an off-white pearl color with gold and silver details. Although empty, the sixth year knew that they would soon be full of delicious food. Being one of the first Ravenclaws in the Great Hall, Annelise didn't see anyone who looked terribly familiar. She did, however, not hesitate when she chose to sit across from a girl with a sketchpad. Although the sixth year wanted to greet the younger Ravenclaw with a hello, the second year seemed very concentrated and shy Annelise didn't want to intrude on her concentration.
Soon enough, the Sorting Ceremony began. Annelise listened to the joyous song written by the Sorting Hat, admiring its positive comments of all the houses. It seemed to not be worried nor have a warning for the students. This news made Annelise feel at ease, because The Daily Prophet's reoccuring headlines about the muggle situation seemed to forecast problems occurring in the Wizarding world. Nonetheless, Annelise pushed those thoughts aside as she brought herself back into the Welcoming Ceremony, cheering and whistling each time the Sorting Hat shouted the name of her dear house. As the last student was sorted into Gryffindor, Annelise clapped, and turned to the Headmistress who stood and called for the room's attention.
The Headmistress made her (albeit brief) speech. Annelise, an attentive listener, would not have minded a longer one from this woman of great power and decisions; however, she was happy to see a very delicious amount of food make its way onto the plates in front of her. As she was about to grab a baked roll of bread, Annelise noticed the younger girl also grab them. The sixth year grabbed them right after, taking a bite. "These are delicious, aren't they?" she asked, looking over to the second year, hoping to begin conversation. "I love the Hogwarts food!"
Looking at how lovely the Great Hall was, Hestia smiled to herself as she was starting to feel like she was back home. Back where she belonged and felt like herself. The Welcoming Feast was always a favorite of her's, coming back to start a new year at the school and start over all of the bad things that could have happened. It was nice.
Brushing all of her hair so that it wouldn't be in the way, Hestia knew she should have just threw her hair into a ponytail so it didn't bug her. But oh well. She would just have to make sure that it didn't get into her food while she was eating. The poor was starved. She only had a few things when she was on the train ride to Hogwarts and had made a mental note to eat almost her body weight in food so that she wouldn't be that hungry again.
Once the sorting had finished and the Headmistress had finished her speech, Hestia smiled as all of the food appeared on the table right in front of her eyes. Grabbing a roll and some chicken, she paused and heard an oh so familiar voice. Looking up, she grinned to see Annelise. "Hey you" she said, hopefully getting her attention. "Well why wouldn't you love it? It really is amazing" she said and put some potatoes onto her plate.

Olivia was so absorbed in her sketching that she failed to notice the two older girls who sat down around her. The food on her plate was begining to get cold, so she shoveled a few more pieces of chicken and vegetables in her mouth before pushing the plate away. A voice across from her caught her attention causing her to look up and notice a girl slightly older than her trying to talk to her, but she was reluctant to respond to her because she didn't really know her well. Most of the older girls in her rarely paid her any attention at all because they were busy with studying for their OWL or NEWT exams. She only remember the girl from the train ride here with isobella but she still felt out of place their when they talked about their plans for the summer.
"Uh...yeah the rolls are good if you like bread and stuff," she said shutting her sketch pad from the prying eyes around her. Looking around she noticed another girl who had sat with her who she had never met before while going to school here.

Annelise nodded at the young girl's comment. "All the food at Hogwarts is normally just lovely," she said, unsure of what else to really say. She guessed food wasn't really the most exciting topic to start a conversation, anyway. At the sound of one of Annelise's favorite voices, she turned her head with a smile, her dimples digging into her cheeks. "Hestia!" she exclaimed with absolute delight, clasping her palms together in front of her. "Oh, you still manage to look so lovely in your school robes." The sixteen year old turned her attention to the piles of food in the center of the Ravenclaw table, still maintaining conversation with her sixteen year old counterpart.
"How was your summer?" Annelise asked, half of her attention centered on the sliced ham and pineapple that sat in front of her. She picked a few pieces of that and decided on roasted potatoes to go on the side of her plate, along with some baked pieces of pumpkin. Hogwarts School fed them so well, and it was delightful to be back in the Great Hall. The large dining room buzzed with noise and chatter as all their fellow students caught up with one another, probably talking about their exciting summer adventures rather than what classes they were looking forward to taking.
