Wow. Isabelle couldn't hold in her excitement about being back at Hogwarts. She greeted each newly sorted Hufflepuff with so much enthusiasm hoping they too, would feel their badger pride. "Huffin' or nuthin!" she would chime each time a new Hufflepuff would take a seat at the table, receiving a mixture of reactions throughout the night. Having not grown up in the Wizarding world and hearing the preconceived uncertainties about Hufflepuffs, Isabelle was proud to be a Hufflepuff from the moment the Sorting Hat called her name. With each new year, she looked forward to not the Sorting Hat's warning or piece of wisdom at the end of its song, but something new the Sorting Hat had to say about Hufflepuff.
In the middle of conversation with someone in her year, Isabelle heard the familiar chime of Headmistress Charmant's glass. Promptly ending the conversation, she turned her head, eyes concentrating on the Headmistress and her bright pink dress robe at the front. She laughed as the Headmistress skipped introductions and fast forwarded to dinnertime. She noticed some uncertain first years with confused looks, some whispering to people nearby, asking about the woman's position at the school.
Not sitting directly beside any first years, Isabelle skipped all that and simply decided to dive into dinner. She started with a couple pieces of what looked to be baked chicken along with some greens. So busy concentrating on all the food sitting in front of her, Isabelle didn't even notice her glass become filled with pumpkin juice. Pleasantly surprised, she grabbed her glass and took a swig of the juice before beginning her meal. It was a long train ride.

Lexi slipped into the Great Hall, late from having been trying to skip the welcoming ceremony in favor of grabbing a quick bite to eat from the kitchen and then heading out to the Quidditch pitch to practice. She had missed being able to fly high in the sky, around the goals, swooping low to catch the snitch. However, her plans had been foiled by Professor Ponikarovsky, who had followed her in, and headed up to his seat at the staff table.
He had caught up with her in the kitchen, on his way to tend to an injured house elf. After he had asked her for her assistance, she had no choice but to follow him back to the feast, abandoning her plan to have the pitch all to herself. Feeling defeated, she dropped heavily onto the bench at the Hufflepuff table, next to her friend and fellow team member, Isabelle Iolani.
She smiled at her friend, looking guilty at getting caught, then started piling up her plate. "Professor P. caught me skipping the feast," she explained, having told Isabelle her plan on the train. Isabelle herself hadn't wanted to skip, but that hadn't stopped Lexi. "I'm going to head out after the feast though, if you wanna come with!"
