William Wyebourne was a graduate of Gryffindor house who had become inseperable from his best friend muggle-born Mitchell Michaelson even after they both left Hogwarts. Though not a pureblood in the sense that the wizarding lines went unbroken all the way back to the end of time, the past three generations of his family had all been witches and wizards. Peter had no illusions of keeping this tradition up ever since he had met Mitchell's older sister, Maggie, the first time he summered with the Michaelsons after third year. Though at first she ignored the attentions of a thirteen year old boy, eventually that thirteen year old grew up into a fine young man, and after his graduation she agreed to date him. Three years later the wedding bells rang.
They had agreed that they wanted two children, one adopted and one biological. After the birth of Anya, their biological daughter, they started searching for their second child. They went through a non-profit magical organization- Cauldrons for Tots (proving that though wizards did not quite have the grasp of catchy names, they would at leasts try) that had been working for the past ten or so years to place magical orphans with magical families. And that was how the Wyebournes ended up traveling to South Africa to adopt four year old Isoba Dumisani, who quickly became Isoba Dumisani Wyebourne.
Growing up was a bit eclectic, mostly in the Muggle world but with definite wizarding accents. Isoba was the kind of child everyone loved to tease because he took everything too seriously and would get mad. Very serious, even as a child, the one who colored meticulously inside the lines when his peers were eating the crayons. William had left his job at the Ministry to take care of the children, but when Isoba was old enough to start kindergarten and Anya was old enough to start preschool he went back to work in the International Magical Office of Law.
At six years old Isoba decided he wanted to take martial arts, and convinced his parents this was a good idea through a combination of listing all worst possible scenarios that could happen, pointing out that he couldn't use magic on muggle bullies, saying he might need it to someday protect Anya, pointing out that his grades were perfect (he was an excellent listener and knew his ABCs) and a wee bit of childhood persistence.
Isoba's a very dedicated boy, to his schoolwork, to his martial arts, to his family. He'll stop at nothing to accomplish what needs to be done, especially if that involves taking care of Anya.
Isoba's never been one for parties or for great amounts of socializing. He'll be polite, he won't avoid people, but he doesn't seek people out either. He's perfectly happy alone and doesn't find anything wrong with solitude. He's not exactly a talkative person, but he will openly speak his mind if he disagrees with someone or if he has an opinion on a topic. He has a sublt arrogance about him that isn't that subtle at all once you get to know him. He tends to be the leader in group projects, not so much because he wants to be "in charge" but because he wants the work done well and hates when people dally around just trying to decide who the leader will be. It's not so much that he doesn't trust other people to do a good job as that he knows he can trust himself. He hates relying on others for anything and will rarely, if ever, ask for help, though he'll give it freely if asked for it. He refuses to do the work for anyone, though, he'll help them learn, he'll help them practice, but he won't do someone's homework for them, he won't confront their bullies for them. Exceptions tend to be his little sister and little kids from his own house. Most of his time is spent training, whether it be practicing spells, practicing his martial arts, studying, wizard chess, or practicing Quidditch, he hates doing needlessly frivolous things when there are plenty of actually productive things to do. He's often told he needs to lighten up, an assertion that is always followed by a cold, impassive stare and intense silence, usually prompting the speaker to mumble some excuse to leave the room.
