CERISE CHARMANT*
sixtynine years old, headmistress
represented hufflepuff, bearing a wand
Born to a witch and a wizard, Cerise Charmant was not destined for success. Her parents, both employees at various departments at the Ministry of Magic, were barely present. Before Hogwarts, she barely participated in school. She loved to eat glue.
Even during her time as a new student at Hogwarts, she felt alienated by other houses. Not understanding the negative preconceptions other classmates had about Hufflepuffs, Cerise often held a stolen rubber ducky close to her heart each night as she blamed the world for all her problems.
Eventually, she found herself. Thriving in the Charms classroom, Cerise soaked up each compliment given to her by her Charms professor. She practiced Charms outside the classroom, studying the discipline thoroughly. During her Muggle Studies class, Cerise would charm various objects around the room. Eventually, she made a game of how many objects she could bewitch before her professor noticed. She still prides herself on her personal record of 53 items in one hour.
After graduating from Hogwarts, she enrolled in further studies of the Charms discipline. Soonafter, she was accepted as an Intern to the soon-to-be-retired Charms professor at Hogwarts. And from there, she happily made her way up the ladder. She adored the students who could relate to her quirkyness. She favorited the students who made positive comments about her rubber duck when they visited her office.
Although in her young age, Cerise Charmant was a seemingly scatter-brained child who didn't have much life direction other than teaching Charms at Hogwarts, she has since matured. Cerise always felt an innate need to be happy, looking to her craft as a Charms master and counseling her students during her time as Hufflepuff's Head of House.
But eventually, Cerise became tired. She left Hogwarts to marry a fellow wizard she met on one of her trips to Spain. She had children (two girls and one boy), and invested her life and her time in then. Still, eventually, they didn't need her. They were called to Hogwarts. Her husband was busy at work all the time, and again Cerise felt lost and misdirected. She visited Hogwarts on a whim, hoping a job would be open. For some time, she helped coach the Hufflepuff Quidditch team.
Her innate love to plan ahead made her an ideal candidate for Hogwarts Headmistress. So, eventually, she was asked by the Hogwarts Board of Governers to become Headmistress of Hogwarts.
Honored, she accepted.
Although scatter-brained during the beginning of her career, Cerise learned to become detail-oriented with a positive outlook for plans and the future. These traits, she tries her best to bring to the table at all times, whether it's business at Hogwarts, or outside of it. Her positive attitude extends far. During times of stress, Cerise does tend to feel trapped. This is her ultimate weakness. At these times in her life, she finds reasons to leave Hogwarts "on business" and can thus be found unreachable. Having spent her entire life at Hogwarts, she justifies her reasons for departure when she can.
Still, she tries to lead Hogwarts with her chin up and attitude high. She places a strong emphasis on her role as a public figure and being accounted for everything she says. Needless to say, she's learned to speak slowly since her days as the Hufflepuff kook.
