If you're lucky, you'll find a house elf running around while you're wandering around. The west corridor is home to a kitchen full of house elves willing to serve any student who comes across their working hive, along with the comfortable, sought after Prefects' lounge.

Popular locations above the Entrance Hall on the First Floor include the Courtyard, where students often come to relax after classes, and the Transfiguration classroom.

After a while at Hogwarts, hearing loud cries coming from the bathroom isn't an oddity; Moaning Myrtle is notorious for that. If you're not here to visit Myrtle, you must be here to visit the Hospital Wing or attend your Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

On this floor you will find the Muggle Studies class, the library and the Quidditch Club. We advise not going from a rambunctious club meeting straight to the library. Miss Fitzgerald may not appreciate that.

If you're signed up for Ancient Runes, this is the floor to be on. The boys bathroom is also located on this floor. Also note that the school's ghosts tend to linger around the halls of this floor, so don't be too startled when you see them!
